Professional Expectations

  • This is a technical sales engineer position which requires the ability to become a subject matter expert for our products and services.  It also requires the ability to provide technical designs and solutions while owning deployments for strategic accounts through to full implementation
  • 3 years' experience as a technical sales engineer
  • Working experience configuring and troubleshooting Microsoft technologies such as Active Directory, Group Policy, server networking configuration
  • Medium level experience working with enterprise networking
  • Basic level firewall concepts
  • Willingness to travel 10 - 20%

Key Responsibilities

Engineering:

  • Own strategic product evaluations and deployments through completion
  • Technical contact, directly supporting sales teams
  • Strategically differentiating Ativion products from competitors'
  • Stay current with market trends to provide strategic advice to product development teams

Sales and Marketing:

  • Pre-sales consultation
  • Translate customer goals and requirements into Ativion solutions that meet their needs
  • Strategic customer product demonstrations - both remote and on-site
  • Attend tradeshows as a subject matter expert for the Ativion product suite
  • Advise, coach, train, and motivate both in-house and channel sales teams

Documentation and Strategy:

  • Contribute to the writing of both technical documentation and presentation documents
  • Assist in the development and execution of sales and marketing initiatives, including:
    • Responding to RFP's
    • Manage and maintain comprehensive product presentation documentation
    • Create and maintain PowerPoint presentations for tradeshows, on-site meetings, and partner presentations
    • Develop and refine product demonstration processes to ensure presentations are impactful.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deploying and troubleshooting Windows, ChromeOS, MacOS, iOS devices
  • Mobile device management: SCCM, Intune, JAMF, etc.
  • Diagnostic experience with network technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, Proxy, VPN
  • CCNA or 5 years' enterprise working experience
  • SQL administration, security, basic query knowledge, ODBC technologies
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies including Azure/Entra ID Active Directory, AWS, ADFS/SAML
  • Expertise in demonstrating how product features enhance security posture, including access control and remote management capabilities
  • Previous experience with web filtering and/or network security products
